CIOFF - an international non-governmental UNESCO organization,
is involved worldwide in the organization of international folklore
festivals for both amateur and professional groups in the genre of
stage dance for the cultivation, preservation and promotion of art,
customs and traditions, traditional costumes and all other forms of
traditional art.
Since 1992 "Danzlued ut Wismer"
has
been
successfully putting its ideas, experience and commitment into practice
in complete harmony with the humanitarian goals of international understanding
and multinational encounters based on friendly relations among all
peoples, peace and tolerance through worldwide contact between artists
and exchanges with ensembles in the amateur and professional art field
of this organization. Its efforts are also aimed at developing its
own folklore festival into a genuine "branded article" with
a high degree of national and international recognition for the Hanseatic
City of Wismar, for the state of Mecklenburg and for Germany.
